Week 5: June 29th

Hello, you wonderful people!

I hope you are all staying safe and well.

I am really missing you, and cannot wait to see you all again soon!

I am looking forward to hearing about all of the new things you have learnt whilst spending so much time at home – and not just the lessons on the school’s home learning pages!

For instance, who’s become proficient at helping with household chores?

Vacuuming, sorting laundry and loading the washing machine, ironing clothes, stacking the dishwasher correctly, budgeting for the weekly shop, planning and cooking a meal for your family, mowing the lawn, weeding, digging and planting are all skills that you will need to become a successful, independent adult in the future!

We have missed sharing so much together over the past few months – I (like many of you) celebrated a birthday in “lockdown”! It was a very different occasion to the usual, but Mr Robinson and Shelby did so much to make it special for me, including finding a birthday cake made without palm oil!

Did you know that your sense of smell can evoke particular memories? Because our holiday has been cancelled this year I have been cooking food that is typical to some of the places we have visited in the past – the smells have made us reminisce and given us lots to talk about whilst enjoying the food!

Why not visit this website and see if you can replicate a meal that you and your family may have enjoyed on holiday?     https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/cuisines

BEAT THE TEACHER

Recently, Miss Sansby set this problem for some of us to solve – lots of staff did not solve it! Prize awarded in September to the first 10 children who email me the correct answer!

How many blocks are needed to

complete the cube?

Have fun! Stay safe! Look forward to the summer break – they’re only a couple of weeks away!

We are excited to be seeing you all soon!
