Hello to all the children in Year 5,
I hope you safe and well. My children have been keeping me busy during lockdown but I am missing seeing and teaching you all very much. The past couple of weeks have whizzed by and I look forward to seeing you all when we can return to school.
I thought I would share some of the things that I have been doing with my family to keep us busy. We have enjoyed using our daily hour of exercise to go on a couple of walks around our local area. I have really enjoyed listening to the peace and quiet that nature brings and I have used this time to reflect on the simple things that life can offer us. During these walks, my children have had great fun hiding stones, which they painted, with messages of encouragement written on them.
I have also ordered a jigsaw! I want to make something that will give me a memory of this very strange time that we are all experiencing. It has 1000 pieces. I think I will need to use some of our learning characteristics when I am completing it because it may take me a while. Once I have finished it, I am going to frame it and hang it in my hallway. Have you created/made anything that you could keep as a keepsake to remind you of this time? Some ideas of things that you could do are write a diary, write a poem, make a time capsule or you could collect pictures of things that you have done during this time and keep them in a scrapbook.
