Week 3: June 15th

Hello Everyone,

I hope that you are all enjoying our new topic. I enjoyed reading the text extract ‘If I could Fly’ with the Key Worker children last Wednesday. Together we enjoyed finding examples in the text to show where the author had added suspense. My favourite book genres are thrillers and mysteries. I have really enjoyed reading a variety of books during the lockdown. I am a bit strange though, I often read two or three at the same time. I have also enjoyed listening to some audio books when I go running. I hope that you are keeping up with your reading at home.

Walt Disney once said, “There is more treasure in books, than in all the pirate’s loot on treasure island.”

I have also been thinking about taking up a new hobby. I was very envious of Mrs Hadley’s and Miss Sansby’s crocheting skills. Mrs Hadley once crocheted me the character Groot from ‘The Avengers’. I love it! I saw a lady wearing a crocheted cardigan in a programme that I enjoy watching so I decided to try and learn how to crochet myself. With a little help from Mrs Hadley, I have managed to crochet quite a few granny squares. Not quite enough for a cardigan but I am hoping to make a blanket out of them. I just need to learn how to crochet them together now! Have you taken up a new hobby?

I hope you are all safe and well. We are missing you all very much. See you all soon,

Mrs Lumsden
